CHALLENGE

Following its 2023 acquisition by an infrastructure-focused PE firm, a fast-growing provider of medium-to-high voltage electrical infrastructure experienced rapid expansion, doubling EBITDA in under 12 months while completing multiple strategic acquisitions. As the company prepared for a near-term exit with a 10x+ valuation target, it faced increasing complexity across financial reporting, segment visibility, budgeting, and integration activities. The CFO needed scalable financial tools, buyer-ready reporting, and an emerging FP&A function capable of supporting valuation, diligence, and ongoing growth.

OUR ROLE

ETONIEN provided a senior interim finance leader to support the CFO during a period of rapid expansion, active acquisition activity, and elevated investor expectations. The consultant served as the organization’s FP&A lead – overseeing budgeting, reporting, and sale-prep analytics while partnering across Finance, Operations, and the PE sponsor.

  • Supported opening balance sheet work, purchase accounting, and integration for three acquisitions.

Audit & Investor Readiness

  • Built a tracking system for active projects to support upcoming audit and buyer review.

  • Ensured reporting was aligned with sponsor expectations and diligence requirements.
